Redcliffe
Redcliffe Harness Racing Club is a provincial club north of Brisbane that aims to provide serious racing on the track and fun and enjoyment off the track.
We race most Wednesdays and a selection of Fridays throughout the year on the unique 833 metre circuit. Our premier race, the $40,000 Redcliffe Cup, takes place during our winter carnival across July and August. The Patron’s Purse, Redcliffe Derby, 2YO Classic, Redcliffe Oaks and Christmas Cup are other feature events.
Our trackside restaurant The Peninsula Steakhouse is gaining a solid reputation - we challenge you to find a better steak in South East Queensland. It has a peerless position overlooking the home straight and offers a genuinely relaxing dining experience.
A new initiative of the club is the annual yearling sale and 2YO Classic which is entering its fourth year. The $50 000 2YO classic is only open to yearlings sold during our April sale. Sale day is full of action. Bright, young horses get their first public appearance and optimistic owners and trainers search for the next champion. Spirited bidding ensues and careers are launched amid hopes and dreams. Sale day is a day not to be missed.
Our Sunday morning work-outs are fun, casual days enjoyed by our members, friends and the harness racing fraternity. Held fortnightly on the first and third Sundays of each month, the work-outs are a great way to look at the up and coming participants in a relaxed setting. You don’t have to be a member or participant. We warmly invite you to come and try the mouth-watering bacon and egg rolls, enjoy a chat over coffee and have a look behind the scenes.
Membership of the Redcliffe Harness Racing Club is available for $55 per year and includes entry to all race meetings.
